Andy Carroll's wretched injury record as West Ham career could be over after latest setback

Andy Carroll's West Ham career is likely over as understands that he has undergone ankle surgery that will rule him out for the rest of the 2018/19 campaign.

The Hammers striker has suffered one injury after another during his seven-year stay in east London and with his contract unlikely to be renewed at the end of this season, he's set to have to find a new club that will be willing to take him on.

Carroll initially joined West Ham on-loan from Liverpool back in August 2012 before making it permanent almost a year later in June 2013, handing the striker a mammoth six-year contract which will run out at the end of this campaign.

Manuel Pellegrini has given no indication that the club will be renewing Carroll's terms. If the club were to offer him a new deal, they would have to offer him a pay rise, even if it's only 1p on top of his current £90,000 a week salary, to trigger it

In total, Carroll has suffered 12 injuries that have kept him sidelined for four games or more throughout his seven years in the capital and that's not even counting the little knocks he has picked up here and there.

This season, the Geordie striker has made just 14 appearances and his over his career with the Hammers, he's featured just 142 times, scoring 34 goals.
