Coach Johnson leaves AmaZulu after poor start

AmaZulu have confirmed the sacking of coach Cavin Johnson after they took only two points from a possible 15 at the start of the Absa Premiership season.

Usuthu confirmed the move via a media statement and thanked Johnson for his time with the club, saying the board of directors had decided to release him from his contract early.

“We wish Mr. Johnson the best of luck in his career. The next focus for the club will be towards getting back on track since results have eluded us so far this season,” club general manager Lunga Sokhela said.

Johnson is the second coach to lose his job on Monday after Chippa United announced the departure of Clinton Larsen.
