Hoeness retracts on Germany boycott comments

Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has retracted the comments he made suggesting the club’s players will boycott playing for Germany.

After Bayern’s Champions League Group B opening game against Red Star Belgrade,Hoeness,gave his own opinion over who should start in goal for Joachim Low’s side.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen voiced out his frustration about not playing for the national team often given his performance at his club,Barcelona.

Hoeness criticised Ter Stegen for his comments and claimed the media are coordinating a campaign against Neuer, insisting Bayern would not let their players “be damaged without reason”.

He added Bayern Munich could “no longer send players to the national team anymore” over the issue, but Hoeness has now retracted the comments.
