Sanchez admits he was fearful when Jose Mourinho was appointed

Davinson Sanchez has admitted he was fearful when Jose Mourinho was appointed as the new Tottenham Hotspur manager.

The Colombian has struggled for his best form this season, under both Mourinho and his predecessor Mauricio Pochettino.

Speaking to Blog Verdolaga, as reported by Golombianos, the defender spoke very warmly of his relationship with former boss Pochettino.

But he also made it clear that he currently has a good relationship with Mourinho, despite his early concerns.

There is no doubt that Sanchez is a very talented player but his form this season has left something to be desired.

Mourinho clearly knows this and has brought in the likes of Japhet Tanganga and Eric Dier to compete with Sanchez at the heart of Tottenham’s defence.

The 25-year-old has the potential to be a star under Mourinho, who is known for getting the best out of his defensive players.

It could be that the Colombian needs a full pre-season working with Mourinho to truly adapt to his methodology and develop into the player Pochettino thought he would at Spurs.

Tottenham fans will certainly be hoping that is the case.
