Victor Osimhen ‘the future of Nigerian football’-Odion

Man Utd news: Victor Osimhen

Manchester United have been linked with Lille forward Victor Osimhen and Odion Ighalo believes his compatriot is ‘the future of Nigerian football’.

The 30-year-old has scored four goals in eight appearances for the club since arriving on loan from Chinese outfit Shanghai Shenhua.

And while there is "no offer on the table yet" from United to extend Ighalo's stay at Old Trafford, the club have been linked with another striker.

According to French publication Le 10Sport, Osimhen had become a priority target for United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Osimhen joined Lille from Belgian club RSC Charleroi last summer and has gone on to score 18 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions.

And even though Osimhen could end up replacing Ighalo at United, the former Watford striker was still full of praise for his fellow Nigerian international.

"I talk to Osimhen, he’s a very nice boy, young, he’s a good guy," he told Elegbete TV.
