Arsenal target tipped to become “one of the best players of his generation”

Reported Arsenal target Samuel Chukwueze has been tipped to become “one of the best players of his generation” by Nigeria icon Ikechukwu Uche, in conversation with Brilla FM.

Chukwueze has been progressing nicely at Villarreal in recent months, with 30 appearances in all competitions this term yielding four goals and four assists, plus 12 caps for Nigeria and two goals (Transfermarkt).

Last season, meanwhile, the 20-year-old registered double figures for the club, making 47 appearances between the senior team and the B team, with 10 goals and four assists (Transfermarkt).

Arsenal cult hero and Yellow Submarine ace Santi Cazorla is fond of Chukwueze and previously confirmed that the Emirates Stadium side had been in touch regarding the young prodigy (Marca).

More recently, in an Instagram Q&A for La Liga, Cazorla was asked who he thought was the fastest player he had shared a pitch with, to which he swiftly replied: “Chukwueze”.

Uche, who starred at Villarreal between 2011 and 2015, did an Insta live session with Brilla FM earlier in May and waxed lyrical about his compatriot.

“He’s a cool kid, he’s good and doing very well at Villareal,” the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner said.

“We just have to help him, and if there’s anything we need to tell him, we will surely do because we got to this stage by listening to people who have been there before us.

“And I think with the way he’s going, he would become one of the best players of his generation.”
